When requesting support, please provide the following information to help us serve you more quickly:

  • AutoCAD® version and type, e.g., AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2016;
  • AutoCAD platform type, e.g., 32 bit or 64 bit;
  • SmartDraft® version (can be found using the SmartAbout command);
  • Microsoft Windows® version and type, e.g., Microsoft Windows 7 (64 bit);
  • A description of the problem, e.g., When using the <command name or alias>, I receive the error <xyz> when selecting a <object type, point, typing, etc...);
  • A copy of the file(s), XREF(s), or project files needed to test the problem using your data; and
  • Indicate in the file, the area, or objects you selected when the error occurred.

SmartDraft 8 through 16, the information above can be easily produced by using the SmartInfo command, which allows you to copy and paste the results into an e-mail.

SmartDraft 15 and Civil 3D 2016 startup issue

SmartDraft 15.0.0 to 15.1.2 can cause a startup issue in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016. To help this issue from occuring download the smartdraft15startup.zip file and follow the instructions to patch SmartDraft..These files are for SmartDraft 15 Only.
 
Instructions for SmartDraft15Startup.zip.
1 Download SmartDraft15Startup.zip (10 KB)
2 Open AutoCAD
3 Use the SMARTINFO to find the installation folder. (Default: C:\Program Files\SmartDraft)
4 Close AutoCAD
5 Unzip SmartDraft15Startup.zip
6 Copy the 5 *.mnl files into the <SmartDraft installation folder>.
7 Open AutoCAD and continue working

Warning for AutoCAD 2014 to 2017: When you load the SmartDraft menu for the first time, the File Loading - Security Concern dialog box may appear. If it does, you must select the Load button for SmartDraft to work correctly. Note: The listed file could be smart.mnl, smarthydro.mnl, smartpconnect.mnl, smartsuite.mnl, smartsurvey.mnl.

 

Block insertion Issue

If you experience issues with SmartDraft blocks being inserted a the incorrect scale:

To correct the scaling issue:

  1. Erase all the incorrectly scaled SmartDraft blocks.
  2. Purge all the blocks.
  3. Run the "-DWGUNITS" command. Note: Use dash before the command.
  4. Press ENTER for the the prompts of the "-DWGUNITS" command except the Scale objects from other drawings upon insert? [Yes/No] <Yes>:
  5. Enter NO for the Scale objects from other drawings upon insert? [Yes/No] <Yes>: prompt.
  6. Rerun the SmartDraft command to confirm the block is scaled correctly.
