Create or edit these files using the Customization Template Manager SmartDraft Customization Template File Additions since v6.6.9 New Layer List file Offset Street v7.6.5 Offset Layer List file LAYCR.OLY Copy this file from \template\default to your customization template file folder. Note: If this file is not found in your Customization Template(s), the Laycr.oly file located in the Default customization template will be used. New Styles files Style files are located in the subfolder Labels in each of the Customization Template folders under \templates. Coordinate Table v7.0.0 All files with the extension *.csy Area Table v7.5.0 All files with the extension *.asy Offset Street v7.6.5 All files with the extension *.osy Copy these files using Windows Explorer or the Customization Template Managersub_arr.bmp Styles File Manager. Note: If these files are not found in a Customization Template, the program will attempt to create a default.* style file in the customization template. If the customization template folder is read-only, the commands will not work correctly. Setup 1. Make a backup copy of the original media. 2. Rename SmartDraft 8.ex_ to SmartDraft 8.exe 2. You will need 20.5 MB of free disk space to complete the installation process. The software can be installed on a local or network drive (See License Agreement). 4. Run the SmartDraft 8.exe Enter destination drive and folder 5. Add SmartDraft to any AutoCAD profiles: Select the desired profile(s) from the AcadInstall dialog. AutoCAD Setup AutoCAD 2002 / Land Desktop 3 - 2005 a. Manually loading the SmartDraft menu. If you did select the profile(s) during installation. To register the software either: Single seat license: At the AutoCAD Command prompt follow the steps below. Command: SmartAbout ENTER From the About dialog box select the Register button. Owner’s Name: Enter the company or owner’s name to be associated with the software Serial Number: Enter the supplied serial number Authorization Code: Enter the supplied authorization code or Site license: Copy the provided license file (smart.lic) to the program’s installation folder. The default installation folder is C:\Program Files\SmartDraft SmartDraft Customization instructions Customization Templates Customization Template files for the program are located in the program’s installation subfolder \Template Users must have read and write rights to this folder and subfolders to edit or customize SmartDraft. The customization folder \Template can be located and/or named as needed on your system. If it is not placed in the default location, the PROJDIR= pointer in the RACSETUP.INI file must be edited to reflect change in the location and/or name. Sample: RACSETUP.INI [Program] PROJDIR=C:\Program Files\SmartDraft\Template < resource folder name/location after the = How to share Menu when both AutoCAD 2000 and 2004/2008 based products are installed. Users wanting to share a single installation of SmartDraft when they have both AutoCAD 2000 and AutoCAD 2004 based products installed on the same workstation. Historically a single installation of SmartDraft could be shared with multiple AutoCAD's on the same workstation. However AutoCAD 2004 and higher brought a change to this. AutoCAD 2004 and higher recompiles partial menu files for its 'high color' icon system. Once the partial menu is recompiled with 2004 or higher, it will not work in any AutoCAD 2000/2002 based products. Procedure: To share a single install on dual AutoCAD installations. 1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the product folder. 2. Highlight the SmartDraft menu files. Smart.MNL Smart.MNS Smart.CUI Smart.DLL 3. Right Click, Choose Copy. 4. Move pointer off file list, Right Click, Choose Paste. 5. Rename the copied files to Smart2004.* 6. Open AutoCAD 2004 or higher. 7. Issue the MENULOAD (2004/2005) or CUILOAD (2006-2008) command. 8. Select the Browse button, under the Menu Groups Tab (2004/2005 only) 9. Navigate and select the copied menu, choose Load. 10. Select the Close button.
